All individuals who engage in coaching activities at an NCAA-certified basketball event must be approved through the NCAA Coaches' Approval Process. The approval process consists of an application, criminal background verification, an authorization for release of information and an NCAA rules educational component. The entire process must be completed online and can be accessed through the following link: https://screening.lexisnexis.com/eventcheck/ncaa/

If you have any questions concerning the process, please contact LexisNexis NCAA Support Team at 800-631-8777 ext. 7156 or email NCAASupport@Screening.LexisNexis.com Choose the Legislation and Governance option from the tool bar and then drop down to compliance. From there, choose the Certified Basketball Events and Summer Leagues link listed under related information in the gray box. An approval is good for two years. The application of that two-year period is the year in which it was granted and the following year. The two years is not a literal two years from the date in which the approval was granted.

Any Coach or Bench Personnel listed on the team roster will be required to fill in their approval number on the required roster. If you have someone NOT NCAA approved they should not be listed on your roster. All rosters will be checked and anyone without an approval number will NOT be permitted on the bench at game time.
