5-foot-9 Roosevelt High point guard Suriya McGuire from Minneapolis, Minnesota is headed to the University of Miami to play for coach Katie Meier.  It's a huge get for a program showing signs of trying to turn the proverbial corner in an always competitive Atlantic Coast Conference.  McGuire is long, athletic and was really impressive at the end of the summer with her performance in Augusta.  She snuck in our Top 50 rankings at 50 as we only had the chance to view her one time.  The one showing was enough to definitely say that she can play and will be a welcome addition in Coral Gables next fall I'm sure.

KaNesheia Cobbins from Dutchtown High in Geismar, Louisiana is receiving lots of interest after a good showing at the Best of Summer Tournament in July.  The 5-foot-8 junior guard - who averaged 22ppg, 12rpg, 3.5 apg last school season - will be taking an unoffical visit to Alabama this weekend.  Other schools that have shown strong interest include Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Tulane, Houston and Southern Miss.

Seymour (Tennessee) High point guard Casie Cowan is headed to Cumberland University.  Cowan - a Class of 2010 guard - stands 5-4 and should give the NAIA school a solid ballhandler and hard nosed player at the 1 next year.
